We accept things from others—and from life—based on how we feel about ourselves.
From relationships to jobs,
self-worth affects everything.
If you don’t take yourself seriously enough to want better,
you can’t expect anyone else to do it for you.
No one on this earth can want more for you
than you do for yourself.
It sounds nice.
But it’s impossible.
Imagine waiting around to be treated better.
Your boss tells you you’re doing great—
but hasn’t given you a raise in years.
They overwork you.
They undermine you.
And you convince yourself that your loyalty is worth a pat on the back.
Imagine being loyal to someone who says nice things,
but rarely does anything to show they care.
Imagine having friends who leave you out of plans,
but love to talk about how “good of a person” you are.
Imagine being excluded from everything good—
by people who swear you’re good—
but never actually treat you that way.
Now imagine you—
feeling so compelled to make everyone else happy
that you become just good enough
to stay in their conversations
but never in their consideration.
They know you’re complacent.
They know you’ll accept what’s given.
And it works for them—
because you’ve shown them that it works for you.
They think you’re happy being an afterthought.
You’ve said, “I don’t mind,” so many times—
they believe you.
Even when you absolutely do.
They don’t see your heart.
They don’t know you’re tired.
They don’t hear your pain.
Because you don’t share it.
But you should.
Share it.
Share your truth.
Say what you really want for yourself.
And the universe will answer—
by showing you exactly who you need.
And if that leaves you by yourself?
Thank yourself.
You’ve completed level one of finding your forever.
Because every season…
has a reason.
